2, Working principle and cleaning mechanism
The core principle of laser cleaning is to use the interaction between high-energy laser pulses and material surfaces to achieve pollutant removal, which mainly includes the following three mechanisms:
Thermal evaporation effect
After the laser energy is selectively absorbed by the pollutant, it instantly heats up to the vaporization temperature (such as the vaporization temperature of rust Fe ∝ O₄ is about 1538 ºC), causing the pollutant to directly convert into a gaseous state and detach from the substrate. For oxide layers with a thickness less than 50 μ m, a 200W laser can complete single point cleaning within 0.1-0.3 seconds, with the heat affected zone controlled within 10 μ m.
Shock wave peeling
When pulsed laser is applied to pollutants, energy is released in a very short time (nanosecond level), generating a shock wave of up to 10 ^ 9 Pa, causing the pollutant layer to peel off due to stress fracture. This mechanism is particularly suitable for removing coatings with strong adhesion to the substrate (such as oxides before brazing automotive galvanized sheets), and the surface roughness Ra value after cleaning can be controlled at 1.6-3.2 μ m.

For organic pollutants such as oil stains and adhesives, laser photon energy can break molecular bonds and decompose them into small molecule gases.
